Long time coming...

So we finally went on our first vacation since my maternity leave that ended June 17, 2008...so over a year later we spent the week at the Lake of the Ozarks at my great grandparents cabin!!!

We spent one morning at Ha Ha Tonka State Park hiking and taking in the beautiful scenary around us. This castle was started in the early 1900's being built by Spanish Masons. Then burnt down around 40 years later-the remains are so neat and it was a huge castle.
We went under a natural bridge and hiked through a large sink hole.
Harrison in his hiking backpack-Thank you Madison family for the hand me down backpack-we got so much use out of it!!!

The view of the Lake from the castle-AMAZING!!!
The view of the natural spring from the castle...that we later hiked around.
Our family at the castle.
Harrison really liked looking inside the castle even though it was just overgrown with the outer wall remaining and a few inner walls.

Wow what a day we had:)

Harrison loved being in the water and didn't mind putting on his life jacket or sitting in his turtle as long as he was entertained the entire time. Yes, I have on my life jacket...I was the only one out in the water with Harrison and wanted to be super safe!!!
Taking a bath in the large kitchen sink!!!

The water was wonderful and Harrison loved being on the jet ski-Thank you G and G Vaught!!! He even fell asleep most trips!! We went out every morning around 7am and enjoyed having the water to ourselves-lets just say it gets a little rough in the evenings-luckily on the week days there isn't much traffic and we could enjoy going slower and not have to worry about the waves!!!
Our cutie!!! Loves to pretend to drive the jetski.

Ready to go to the water!!!
Trying to entertain H while daddy is off trying to figure out why the a/c wasn't working...let's just say the heat index was 105 to 108 that week and no a/c = unhappy family.
He loves water bottles!!!
Overall we had a wonderful week and great family time-much needed!!! We got the yard and the cabin cleaned up-with H in the back pack-while still having a lot of time to spend in the water, outlet shopping, and ski balling!!! I have so many great memories of time at the lake with my family and look forward to creating new memories with H and our future kids!!!

What great photos and what a great time.... it's nice to pass those fond memories you have as a kid on to your kids and kids kids and so on. It was so great to see you guys at the end of your vacation, we had a great time getting together with the whole gang on Saturday!
